why did they build a city in the middle of the ocean???

okok im kidding I'm glad mom and dad's house made it ok, though it looks like there will be major cleaning up to do. that thing was crazier than I thought, as my parents said there was flooding and power outages in eastern louisiana!!!

So glad your parent's house made it through. My family is from Nederland/Bridge City area, and several of them lost everything. Even my parent's house in N. Houston had four large trees down, and one barely missed the house. Even with Katrina and Rita, I don't think I really understood the potential gravity of it until it was here. I suppose it's mind-boggling in a way. We are all feeling fortunate, though--those who have lost homes have insurance, and everyone is safe, when it could have been so much worse.

Laura, Here is the message I sent to your email address:

Thanks so much for the message. My cousin Jason's house (in BCity) was completely flooded, and I think he could most likely use some help. My other cousin, Ron, was living there, too, so he lost most of his stuff, too. They are both there working on clean up, but, as far as I know, it is just the two of them. Most of our other family is in Nederland dealing with their own damage, which is minor for the most part. Jason works for two weeks at a time as a Captain of a large ship out there, so he is on the boat 1/2 of the time. But, anyone you could send his way (or just call him and see if he needs anything) would be most appreciated. Jason's contact info is below:

Jason Lee
1369 Elsie St.
BC
409.728.5695

Or Ron Beach

Thanks so much, Laura!
