Go Preds Go

Enough with boring last names in sports like Jordan, Jones, and Smith. How about Erat, Hordichuk, and Vokoun?

I went to my first NHL game tonight - Nashville Predators vs. New Jersey Devils. The Predators lost, but that is beside the point. It was an excellent game, complete with overtime and a shootout. I am now officially fascinated by hockey. And by a few of the Preds.

Well, I don't have much to contribute to this topic. My only hockey experience was in 4th grade I won an essay contest and got to meet Bobby Orr. I still have the autographed picture he gave me that said "To Karen; With Love, Bobby XOXO." It was pretty much the best thing that's ever happened to me in my entire life :)

cole - your mom is boring. and she goes to college.

karen - karen and bobby, sittin' in a tree... at the game, my aunt was pointing out the single players for me. maybe we can both marry hockey players. good thing we don't mind if our husbands are missing teeth.

ugghh...laura i'm sorely disappointed by this. I thought you would get the hint when I didn't return your phone call. I can't stand hockey. I have a lot of fake reasons why, but the real reason is the fact that it sucks.

jj, i'm sad that your love for me is based on my choice of sports. maybe someday you'll return my calls again.

yeah, definitely more exciting than football, geez.

i'll admit i was sitting there thinking, "aren't we a little far south for hockey?" it seems like you shouldn't play hockey if you speak with a southern twang.

Well, I'll stand up for hockey. Some of my favorite memories of are attending minor-league hockey games with a friend in grades 7&8. His dad was the televison announcer, so we went to most of the home games for a couple of years.

Hockey is a sport that must be seen live to appreciate.
